The listing, Vintage Time Magazine Eleanor Roosevelt Cover April 17th, 1939 Not a Reprint Good Condition! has ended.
This is another item I bought on eBay with the purpose of selling. I'm very interested in selling vintage and antique magazines, and with the enormous popularity of my old Life magazine, I decided to share another. This is a Time magazine from 1939. Time was only founded in 1923, so it's when Time was only 16 years old. The cover and main article features former First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt. On the back of the magazine is an ad for Lucky Strike cigarettes (a brand still around, btw) The magazine is in very nice condition. The person who sold it to me on eBay (power seller with 100% + feedback) said it was purchased from an estate and was stored in a box in an attic until 2012. There isn't much damage to speak of, there are a few minor imperfections on the cover, I think they may be ink but they are small and don't cover Mrs. Roosevelt's portrait. All of the pages are in tact, and there are no rips or tears, I just noticed there are a few small creases. Binding holds up very well. There never was a shipping label. The first image is a scan from the eBay listing, the second two images are proof I have it in hand now with my screen name written on piece of paper on the first one. I want to be honest with everyone these magazines are worth about $25 - $30. Just because it's old doesn't necessarily mean it's worth more. However, it is priceless to collectors.
