Very nice 18k gold overlay chain. Its not solid gold but will never tarnish because of the overlay. It would make a nice chain for a younger girl since it is only 16 inch. Great x-mas gift. not sure what base metal is. I wore it for quite awhile 24/7 and it never has tarnished.

I'm not real sure what the base metal is suprise825. I wore this chain for a couple years and it still looks new never has tarnished, I bought it in a mall at a shop set up in the isle way. I also bought a weddung set from them and its still just as beautiful as the day I bought it. Sorrry I can not tell you the exact metal base.
