The listing, Solid Aluminum Ring Sizing Stick - Free Drop Shipping from Amazon has ended.

I just got my own one of these yesterday. I think it's a pretty important tool for the Listia jewelry traders out there :-). It's a heavyweight ring sizer with US and European sizes. It weighs 6.3 ounces and could be used as a weapon on someone trying to steal your diamonds ha ha...That's probably not funny.

My scans, which are the 2nd two images as opposed to the first one cribbed off Amazon, shows the US scale a little more closely with the last one showing a ring of about size 8.5. There are two sides of the stick with two scales on each side. So a size 10 ring is also listed as about 20 mm on the one side and on the other it's listed as about "No." 22 and "U" 62. If my interpretation of this page is correct: http://www.niceice.com/ring_sizes.htm, 20 mm is the diameter in mm, the 22 size is the Japanese size and 62 is the circumference in mm.

The item has a high rating of 4 1/2 stars by 8 reviewers which is pretty decent. For bid gauging purposes the price is only $7.82 for me because I get free shipping from Amazon. I will drop ship this from Amazon to you. Expect about 3 business days shipping.

Here is the Amazon description:

* Has sizes 0 to 13 in 1/4 size increments

Product Description

Actually I think this is more for just measuring. For stretching you want a Rathburn Ring Stretcher which cost about $20 on Amazon or eBay. It seems to have a design with two part, a flexible part that whose tongs separate expanding the ring when the plug part is tapped into it with a mallet. At least that's the way it looks like it operates.

You can still use a mandrel to resize I think but it's probably better if it's a perfectly round one which I have seen a few.
