Recipes - word for word, household hints, images, etc. I can help you find anything you see that you want on the net - REALLY for free - no points.
Cheats:There are plenty of sites where nobody goes where you can share your idea of "goods"; where you won't be getting in the way of this (otherwise) fun little sale here. Please go away.

They stated on their app page on facebook, that they were going to create a seperate category for them, so far, still waiting. :( some of us were in a group on Facebook where we listed the url's of listians who listed them so we could block them faster and not see them in our browsing, one of them caught wind of it and went on a rampage against the group. She started stalking the page and writing messages to the listia members we listed there, the admin of the page finally had to just shut it down. People were getting nasty emails on facebook from the recipe posters.

Personally, I think everyone who finds these criminals, and they most definitely are criminals, offensive and detrimental to the enjoyment of Listia should post a comment here and click like on every comment alredy listed and then add this to their watch list. Listia is bound to notice if enough activity is generated and once they realize just how damaging these criminals are, they will start eliminating them.

If we all pull together, we really can stop this crap. (I sound like a chipmonk) First off - if you don't know about the voting in the forum - find out. You have votes to spend on things you wish to change. Another thing I thought of is when ever you have some time to kill, find the links to the junk they are "selling" and post it in the comments. Or maybe if as many people post an auction like this as they have recipe posters, someone might (and I do mean maybe, baby) pay attention.

They are not going to go away. Listia approves of their junk listings and gives them free credits for junk they aren't even mailing. I don't list any more, I'm done.

Unfortunately, I know it takes some time to block all of these clods. But link to the members page and you can see the ones who are the biggest garbage listers. I lost a measurable ammount of slag just blocking a few of the worst.

my gosh, this is insanity!! I am fairly new to Listia and relieved to see that I am not alone in my angst! I browsed through "other" in home and garden the other day and finally after about 30 recipe listings, I finally ran across a real tangible item!! much to my disappointment however, it was for a standards BIC ink pen with a start bid of 199 creds! this place has seriously gone ape $hit!! I don't know how many crafters have run across this but I am tired of the emailed digi bottled images as well. one day out of boredom I browsed to see if I could find the same images for free online and have yet to find one on Listia that I haven't been able to find on one of 3 sites where you could download for free. thanks so much for the tip on blocking users. I had no idea that would omit their auctions from search results. hooray! I am going back to the Other section of H&G!!

I had a breakthrough, folks. If you block a user, you don't have to look at their piles of plagerized crap. I'm watching the recipes fall from my browsing like quills from a dead porcupine. It's really a beautiful thing.

I had no idea how much work had already been done to try and stop these people. I know Listia has invested interest in the number of members, but I don't understand why they won't at least separate tangible and non-tangible "goods." But anyway, I'll keep up the fight until I stop keeping up the fight. Post link and flag recipes and DIYs that can find. Ima_wannabe - thanks for the link. It'll probably make me sick, but I'm gonna go check it out.

and also, they aren't going away because they are now buying positive feedback from eachother via junk auctions.

The thing is Listia does not care. They don't care about your votes or that these auctions are making good people leave. They do care about the ones doing these junk auctions and give in to their whinning that they are being bullied and discriminated against. At every turn Listia has had the chance to change things and at each turn they would rather do stuff like raise the min. bid, open a rewards store etc. etc. The only way to hurt them is to delete you account so they do not have you on the user rolls and get advertising dollars for you. They will also delete this auction when enough of the Welfare Listians cry about it.

all the good sellers are leaving, and if they aren't leaving they are joining in listing diy and recipes. Ones that are staying are starting their items off with ridiculously high starting bids, it's not as fun as it used to be.

No, don't let the bad apples spoil the barrel ... keep listing, please. The sad thing is I've contacted Listia about this and was ignored. I used all my votes in the forum on a post about this and encourage everyone to do the same. I'm new, so maybe I'm a bit naive, but I see a good thing here, don't let the leeches kill it, just pick 'em off.

They won't go away, as long as listia gives them free credits for listing, bidding on eachother's auctions and allows them to post their garbage where ever they please. it's become an epidemic on here and is the main reason I won't be listing anymore of my "stuff" on here.

Wow - now I really know what I''m up against. But I wouldn't call it pitiful, it just a business model; The American Way: Take as much as you can get and give as little as you can get away with.

Listia allows them, it's free credits for doing nothing more than sitting on your ass and hitting copy paste and relist all day long, free credits for bidding on other friend's garbage auctions, free positve feedback, free sellers wings without speding a dime for any shipping. As long as they get what they want for free, as long as it's allowed by listia, there is no stopping it. There are so many of them now who post this stuff that listia isn't listening to any of it's long term members.

one thing you can try is this, find the website with the recipe or DIY on it. you can do this easily enough by copy and pasting the name of the recipe to a google search, if you find one with a picture that matches the picture in the auction, write the website and notify them, send them the link to the auction using their recipe or diy, I've done it. Other than that, not much anyone can do about them
