This is an intriguing movie on DVD telling the story of a legend believed to be true even today told in various areas of the U.S. as early as 1913. John Klein (Richard Gere) is a hotshot reporter for The Washington Post whose life suddenly takes a turn after he and his wife Mary (Debra Messing) are involved in a car accident after she apparently tried to avoid something on the road. In the wake of the accident, Mary dies of an inoperable brain tumor. After she dies, John discovers an assortment of cryptic drawings she made of a strange black winged creature she saw on the night of the accident.
Two years later, while driving to Richmond, Virginia, John gets lost and inexplicably finds himself almost five hours off-course, arriving in the small town of Point Pleasant, West Virginia. Klein's car breaks down and he knocks on the door of a near by house. A series very strange events involving the profetic seemingly paranormal being, Indrid Colds' predictions of various disasters that prove to be events that actually happen exactly as predicted including the powerful climax of multiple fatalities on a falling bridge.
