Description

The listing, Adorable Pot Snails, garden sticks, garden decor has ended.

This is my first tiered auction, and it goes to a charity drive.

These cute snail-on-a-stick picks are to stick into a plant to brighten them up. They are great for house warming gifts, wedding favours, or any other small, unique token gift as well as to keep for yourself. You can even resell them here on Listia for more credits (I won't complain; promise!)

They are handmade out of scrap acrylic yarn, and the proceeds from sales go to the charity "Modest Needs" when sold for money. In the store I sell them for $5 each, and 100% of the proceeds go to Modest Needs.

For every 500 credits I will ship you one snail of seller's choice for colours as well as put your name on the list $5 donor's.

So, the break down:

0 - 500 = 1 snail and a $5 donation
501 - 1000 = 2 snails and a $10 donation
1001 - 1500 = 3 snails and a $15 donation

And so on. I'll keep track post the results as we go. If you have any questions, please ask.

If you are interested in learning more about Modest Needs, you can find info about their organisation at www.modestneeds.org

This year I raised $50 for Modest Needs selling these enchanting little guys. I hope you can make it more before the year's out.

I'm a little confused on this one. I just bid 10,000 points to help, but I don't know how that's gonna work. Wont it only take what it needs for me to outbid the next highest bid? I'm a guy we confuse easily.

Yep. Think of it this way: The more people that bid on a tiered auction, the more it goes up. The more it goes up, the more of these snails I give away and more money I donate to charity. =)

So, right now this would be 2 snails to you, and a $10 donation to Modest Needs. If somehow, someone outbids you, then you'd get more snails to keep, redistribute or resell, and I increase the money I give to Modest Needs.

All tiered auctions work similarly, in that the more people that bid, the more you get. I think I'm the only one that does them for charity that I've seen, though. Eventually I'll make something else that's (hopefully) either more useful or more interesting to do this with. I'd need a LOT more time to work, though. xD

Hope this helps! And thanks! Modest Needs saved my life more than once. I can only hope I'm doing the same for others that need it now.

Also, if you had seen anything that I've made in the Etsy store that you'd like me to put up here, let me know. I'll put it on my list of things to make, and send you a message when I can get it done. I am doing this with slippers for a few on here, and don't mind doing it with other things. I just gotta carve out time to actually make it.

Cheers,
Grace
