do you need any gear to do the workout? dumbells, a mat, etc?

a mat would be good but its not necessary, I used a blanket to soften the pressure points that hit the floor.

they are pretty cheap but worth the results, my back couldnt handle it

I do have a bad back, 2 of my pars are in backwards on my lower back, would I be able to do this?

you might be able to do most of the exercises as long as you can put the pressure of your own weight on your back
