August Rush is a drama that follows the enigmatic August on his journey to music stardom. As a runaway, the main character (Evan Taylor) escapes from a boy's orphanage in New York City. Due to his ear for melody and the music of life, August is able to create sound from almost anything with very little effort. The DVD of August Rush includes the full movie and the music, which made it famous. The music of the main character, played by Freddie Highmore, is both entrancing and beautiful, and the story is similarly as engaging. As a drama, the love story of this movie is based around a love affair that is as turbulent as the street-life of the product of that affair. August eventually finds himself the head of a symphony, which he directs in hopes of finding his long lost parents. The DVD movie is both heart wrenching and inspiring with its story, music, and acting performances. August Rush is a film that delivers amazing music, a beautiful storyline, and acting performances to remember.
