Please note: We post a postage amount for each auction; you should expect to pay that amount. Please do not ask us for free shipping; if you are going to be upset because we charge shipping, please do not bid. If this sounds "harsh" please read the bad feedbacks posted for me by people who have not listed as many auctions in a year as I have had won in a single day. We love PayPal and accept checks, MOs, USPS stamps, and cash (not recommended). We ask that when your wins arrive that if there is a problem you contact us so we can solve the problem. Otherwise, please post feedback so we know you got the item and we can then post feedback for you.
I wondered why none of you "regulars" were on this; then I checked just now and why did I not put more description? Betcha it was done like 2 a.m. in the morning! Anyway, to start the spiral is wire; one or two of the holes at top and bottom are opened, but covers are secure. The book is by Betty McMichael and her 10 year old granddaughter, Karen. The preface dwells largely on grands relationships and the importance of togetherness. The two authors asked others to help get together recipes from which 300 recipes were finally printed. Each recipes was tested; Karen wanted to put a warning on one that it is "not recommended for dentures--or teeth" but just crossed it off. Many cereals are used: Wheaties, Rice Krispies, Rice & Bran & Corn Chex, Cheerios, Kix, Grape Nut Flakes, Special K, etc. Meats and main dishes, vegetables, breads, cakes, cookies, candies and desserts--plus nutritious snacks and holiday specialties--are included in this unique cookbook. "Seasoned" throughout with appropriate quotations from Scriptures and other sources, the cookbook is designed to foster family togetherness in the kitchen. (If it were a hardcover, it would be in my collection but the only exception to my hardcover rule is locally done cookbooks. And just so you know, I have copied the Peanut Butter Drops (w/cornflakes) recipe and will definitely try it. Only four ingredients and peanut butter I can eat out of the jar, on vanilla ice cream, on saltines w/or w/o jelly and on and on. There is not any indication inside that the book has ever been used. I regret now that I did not skim through the book; I may be spending hours copying some of the recipes: chili ? w/ Post Grape-Nuts???? You know how I ramble; hope this gives you some idea of the book. Any specific questions? My last comment: if you like to try out new recipes this has to be the book for you! I can't wait to do the Drops and I will think seriously about the chili!!
Well, you try out the drops and the chili and let me know. And if there is one or two you would like me to try, if I win, then I will let you know how they are and email the recipe to you.
Thanks, but no favors along that line, please! With over 3,000 hardcover cookbooks in my collection I don't need another recipe and yet it seems every so often a friend finds one I just have to have!!! And would you believe even some of the fiction I have read has contained great recipes. A friend from Missouri was bringing me jars of corn relish that was fantastic (I think cost was around $4 a pint); I was reading a book and there was a recipe for corn relish. Knowing it would not be good, I made up a batch. If it is not the same recipe as the lady's, I can't tell the difference. And a lot cheaper than $4 pint. And so easy to make! OK, why are you sitting there reading all this rambling when you could be bidding on some of my auctions?????? Absolutely got to get 16 auctions posted today (and, yes, I see some cookbooks stacked here by the computer) and hire an 18-wheeler to take my won books to the post office!!!! Later.....
