This is a Sarah Cov brooch, gold tone with aurora beurelis (sp?) colorfully clear rhinestones in it, none missing. It is a special piece to me and I'm offering free shipping for the required amount of credits. I placed a dime in the photo to show how big it is. In great condition!!!!
Questions & Comments
I am still your fan. Still watching your auction, and continuing to wish I had enough credits to bid!
Thanks, I will relist it until it gets any bids on it so you have time, I guess. It is really not that many bids considering nowadays a $5. Amazon GC goes for over 5,000 credits on here these days. It used to be only like 2300. That is what I mainly use my credits for here.
FYI - In 1955, the Aurora Borealis, a thin, vacuum-sputtered metallic coating applied to crystal stones to produce an iridescent effect, was introduced by Swarovski. Aurora Borealis tends to reflect whatever color is worn near it, and it is named after the Aurora Borealis atmospheric phenomenon, also known as the "Northern Lights". Similar treatments are Aqua aura and "Flame aura".
Another FYI - Sarah Coventry jewelry was named after the granddaughter of Lyman K. Stuart, the founder of the company. It was established in 1949 and is recognized as the oldest direct selling jewelry company in the world. They did not design their own jewelry but used other manufacturers to produce their jewelry. Most of the production happened in the state of Rhode Island.[1]
Sarah Coventry jewelry were purchased at home jewelry parties by "fashion directors" throughout the country until 1984 when the company closed its door. However, Sarah Coventry jewelry re-opened years later by new owners and is currently being distributed by representatives via catalogues, the internet, home shopping networks, and other means.
