Description

The listing, WESTERN GERMANY - Tapestry Evening Bag with Snake Chain Handle has ended.

This very old evening bag is a Western Germany Tapestry bag with a gold tone metal frame and snake chain, beige ground with black, green and rose pink floral design.

The label is affixed inside bag "Made in Western Germany Expressly for Jordan Marsh Company WPL9362"

Some very slight soiling on outside, inside is very slightly soiled, some slight discoloration on a small portion of the chain, but all in all a very pretty bag considering its age.

Still in gorgeous condition, suitable for use.

It is circa 1950's-1960's, measuring 7-1/2" x 9-1/2" at widest, chain, 5-1/2"h .

ONE owner, bought new at the time of original purchase.

Sorry, shipping through paypal only. I will send you the paypal address to send shipping to when the auction is over. IF you don't have a paypal account you can still pay by paypal. I don't see any of your info except your address!! You need a bank account or a debit/credit card.

ALL Listia rules apply. If you don't know the rules please read them at www.listia.com/rules

PLEASE don't ask me to change the days, change the GIN, or to change anything. If I could offer free shipping I would do it, so please don't tell me you would bid if it was free. I am a buyer, too, and of course love free shipping, but I also understand that people can't always afford to pay the shipping. You'll notice that I do pay shipping on some other auctions and you will ALWAYS get a tracking number, always. I do not make money off shipping like some people on here do.

I won't come disrespect your auctions so please don't disrespect mine. :-)

That said, thank you for checking out my auction!

I sell Vintage with 100% positive feedback and PLEASE check out my Listia feedback as well so you know you are dealing with a good seller who actually cares.

NOTE: I will combine shipping if you win more than one auction from me as long as I can combine items into one box safely.

This is what I was told by the 75 year old lady that I bought it from. She said the latest it was was from the late 50's because it had been her purse. She also sells vintage and is a friend of mine, and all I can go on is what she told me. I trust her implicitly. I appreciate your input, of course. I didn't say that the people who couldn't afford food owned this, it was MADE in Germany, and my friend lives in Louisiana. If I can get in touch with her I can find out how she got it, but she bought it new. I'll change the range of the age from the 50s to the 60s...

I just found a quote on a vintage/antique site that showed how to date items and it said that imported items in the EARLY 1950s from Germany were marked West Germany. There is a lot more but that line right there proves my dates. If anyone wants that link or any other I can supply it for you.

This is just beautiful! Who cares if it's from the early 50's or 40's! I love it! And it IS vintage! If I could afford the shipping I'd bid on it! Fanned!

This is why I love Vintage things so much. They bring back special memories....and I love things that are even before my time because I know that someone before me had these items and they have history. My husband thinks I'm sappy, and maybe I am, but vintage items are made better, and are just more special than some things made today.I'm glad this purse brought you a moment. :-)
