From back of book-
Vera Propp has done a masterful job of reducing the terrors of the Holocause and war to the believable scale of an eight-year-old. Anytime we bring in humanity of war to children through literature, there is the risk of traumatizing the child or trivializing the event. Not so here.
What is obvious in this book, besides the clarity and tenderness with which it is told, is the fact that the authco truly understands children-the ones in the book and the ones who will read it.- Jim Trelease author of The Read Aloud Handbook.

Very good shape, clean, no writing and no wear. Just was sitting on shelf. I am a retired reading teacher and have many of my own children's books. Hope someone enjoys this one.
