Questions & Comments
I imagine it inductively heats the work. This was brand new in box, I don't think its even had batteries in it. I'll check it out later.

Ty- just never used one that didn't heat up. But it does melt solder right?

Yes, my friend and I both got it to heat up solder. I put it on a wire and it scorched the paper under the wire. Here is the crummy infomercial, I couldn't find a good user video.

so heats up to solder but cools instantly?
Jan 10th, 2013 at 7:38:08 AM PST by
cardinal2
It inducts current into the work. The tip doesn't store the heat, so it cools right off, there is a red light to let you know when it is hot.
