Description
The listing, 1935 to 1945 WW II era Vintage COLORADO SALES TAX TOKEN 2 mill RED Plastic has ended.
Offered is an original 7/8" World War II era sales tax token of 2 mills. This one is made of hard red plastic and has a very slight warp to it.
This red coin type numbered 2 sales tax token was used as change during transactions in Colorado. Colorado had a 2 percent sales tax from 1935 until 1945. These 2 mill tokens were used when tax was less than a penny.
The tokens were typically issued in aluminum or plastic. I have separately listed under the Antique category a similar paper mucilage that might be less common; although other Listians more knowledgeable might comment on this.
It has two concentric circles in the middle and reads COLORADO SALES TAX TOKEN on each side with the number 2 at the center within the two concentric circles.
In Case anyone is wondering...the token is slightly smaller than a quarter. Missouri has exact type....these are very K00L items....I would like to have one to just have inmy pocket with my change....World War Two, And That era....wow.
