The listing, Vintage Torsade Necklace 1960's 4000 Beads has ended.

This Vintage Torsade Style Necklace has roughly 4000 tiny irridescent Beads on 9 strands. Measures just shy of 26" total length and is secured by end caps with a heavy dose of patina, appears to be brass caps. Spring ring has been replaced as its gold toned. Who cares when its this pretty. I twisted the strands to show how I think it looks best and also put a knot in it, so its a versatile piece. I think the tiny beads are some type of plastic as it is lightweight. Aqua color and the beads shimmer in the sunshine! Not perfect, just perfectly wonderful!

I twisted it and later leaving it twisted just put in a knot. But it looks nice as it is without doing anything. Ty for the comment. This type of necklace was pretty common in the 60's till about 1975 but for some reason we just don't see them very often.

you say the beads may be plastic... could they be glass?

yes, they could but the light weight makes me think plastic. the beads are really tiny and have some color variations throughout which almost seems like shells but I know they were just colored to look this way. Wish I could say. Look like glass but not sure.
