The listing, IDEAL Punch down tool has ended.

WHAT: Phone Box Punch Down Tool.

Includes both the 110 and 66 blade as you can see by the second image.

ABOUT: For Use With Phone Line Installations. This punch has a high/low actuation settings and stores the extra blade in the handle. I'm sure you can find this at any Home Depot and talk to the tool expert there to get more info. This tool was used maybe twice about 12 years ago and has sat in my office drawer since. I would really like to find it a good home and owner who will actually take advantage of it.

Ideal Industries was founded in 1916. The company makes tools for the data communication and electrical professions. Punch down tools are spring loaded instruments designed to connect wires in patch panels and other electronic equipment. The mechanism is fairly simple. The user places the wire over the desired connector in the patch panel and presses the punch down tool over the wire. When it is pressed hard enough, the wire is stripped, clipped and punched into place.

if you ever want to wire your own network at home, this is the tool for the job. Sometimes wifi networks don't get to every room in the house and certainly don't offer consistant speeds in every room especially those far from the wifi router. With a wired network, you can have an ethernet plug that's super-fast in every room. Though it's still not quite as convenient as a wifi network, it's much faster.
