I just got a new one and it definitely works better for me, I guess because it has the google play App Store, and I'm not much of a reader. Even then, I still don't use the new one that much, I have a laptop as well and that is a lot better for my school work and stuff :)

i believe on the box it says that there is email access. Internet, yes. Im not sure about netflix, i only used it for the internet once. Never downloaded apps or tried to watch videos.
