Description

The listing, Think St. Patrick's Day Authentic Irish Whiskey Cake has ended.

Think Saint Patrick's Day! My great-grandmother brought this family recipe over from Ireland in the 1800's. It is an easy to make (no yeast) Irish recipe and delicious. It can be baked in a plain loaf pan or a bundt pan and decorated.
I have made this using this recipe since I was kid and everyone loves it! It makes the best Irish Whiskey Cake you've ever tasted! My family has enjoyed this recipe for generations and I make it now with my grandchildren. This is a family recipe that has been handed down and it has not been published anywhere. I really should write a cookbook using these old family recipes, which have been handed down from generation to generation, but in the meantime I will be putting them on Listia. I will email the lucky winner the recipe.
Please check out my other auctions. I will be listing more traditional Irish recipes. I have my great-grandma's traditional donut recipe, great-grandmother's Whoopie Pie recipe, chocolate lava cake recipe, Heath Bar Fudge recipe and more on Listia.
If you fan me I will fan back!

I'd love to try this! It reminds me of my favorite-date nut bread.
Do you by any chance have a recipe for barmbracken?

Thank you Debra! I lost all of my cookbooks and old family recipes in a move several years ago and have been trying to reconstruct certain recipes ever since. Not easy, lol. They were treasures not easily replaced.

I did find the Barmbracken recipe. When we were kids we called it Halloween bread. I'll make it this week and if it's as good as I remember I'll list it. So sorry to hear you lost all those recipes. It would break my heart if anything happened to these.

I did figure out Nana's soda bread and Mom's date nut bread. Still can't figure out what made Nana's scones so good-Have tried so many different recipe and variations of ingredients.
