Description

The listing, Jewelweed, make money, poison ivy relief, has ended.

Ok folks, here we go again....Make some bucks with this plant. Jewelweed is an old remedy used by the Native Americans to provide relief from the rashes you mite get from poison ivy, poison oak, sumac, and a variety of other rashes. Major soapmakers are now using this plant to make their poison ivy soap.
My friend Marie and I are wildcrafters, foragers of the plants that Mother Earth have generously provided us with. We have spent many years in the forests collecting, eating, using, selling whatever plants that we have knowledge of. This plant is one of our most requested and sells for up to $45 a pound when properly harvested. For years we have made our own soap using this plant and carry a small bar with us when hiking, camping, fishing, gardening, etc. We get many requests for our soap also.
This plant is not only beautiful, it attracts hummingbirds like crazy. The seed pods "pop" at the least amount of interference and are difficult to collect. It prefers a rich soil with good moisture. Loves to grow on the side of creekbanks and marshy areas best of all. If you come into contact with a poisonous plant, just pick some of this "weed" and rub and wash affected area with it. It is also good for stings and critter bug bites. You can use this for yourself, make soap with it and or sell the entire plant. Spreads nicely. Be prepared for poison ivy season.
This auction is for thirty hard earned seed.

well, thats mighty kind of you. I myself can pull poison ivy all day long with my bare hands and never get it, but, some other plants have caused me problems. I use the soap for my eczema and bug bites mostly. I always tell people who recieve my soap, I hope you never have to use it, but if you do, be glad you have it....

Rain or "Shine" Cantankerous is always ready to go picking even in the dead of winter. Ask her to tell you about how she almost fell of a rock with a 30 ft. drop picking blood leather off a rock in NC. I would have tried to catch her and we'd have booth been squashed flat. She even took off her shoes to climb the rock! She made me a big bar of the jewelweed soap and my annoying itchy back rash is gone. I wouldn't do without the soap.

That is me with the bow. Marie and I went at midnite up to buck bald, one of the highest bare points in the mountain ranges near us. It was a beautiful nite and we had a really great time. It has a 360 view of nothing but mountain ranges in every direction. We collect a lot of herbs in this area and the wildlife is abundant. We spent the nite drinking Choco Vino and burning sage while the critters scurried about.

mmmm good word. That picture was taken the night we had the so called largest moon ever. Thought Bucks Bald would be the best location to view it however, when we got there, evidently half the residents of this small community must have had the same idea. It turned into a nice night of partying, burning sage, meeting old friends and making some new ones too. This place is really out in the boonies so we were surprised. The night was ethereal........
