WOW,...good question. I have 2 young plants of my own that I have started from seed but don't know if anyone else has them growing. I honestly don't think that this is a common plants/tree for Alaska.

is this a tree or a vine, how long does it take to bear fruit?

This is a tree that can grow up to 9+ feet tall unless you prune it back come winter time. It usually produces fruit in the second year of growing.
