what is this stuff and how big aqre the bags

These are little colored beads/crystals, which
when placed in water, will abosrb enough
water to swell to about 5 times their size.
You put them in a clear vase or container
(preferrab ly glass) and then you place a
rooted plant into them. (Make sure the roots
of the plant are clean, so as not to soil the
medium. this takes the place of soil and
is a beautiful way to display your plants
and it feeds them as well.

The bags are quite small, but as I stated,
the crystals will become much larger.
There is enough medium in one package
for a small to medium sized vase.

It is! I used to use it and sell it in flea markets years ago.
However, you do have to rinse it every now and then ...
But your plants look so beautiful as you can see in the pictures! :)
