I stood there, motionless. a void of nothing surrounded me.
“A dream...” I thought to myself.
“Is it?” A voice echoed around me.
“Wh-who’s there?” I stuttered.
“Don’t lie! You know who I am... Brother.”
“Ngh! Brother? No, no. You’re dead!”
“Banished, exiled, undesirable. But I am very much alive.”
“Bah! Dark Link! Get out of my mind!”
“I’m not in your mind. I’m coming for you.”
“No! You’re in the Twilight, and Midna broke the mirror. You can’t come back.”
“I will come. Remember: watch what you do and say, nothing good ever comes from anger.” And with that, all was silent.
I woke with a start, my covers on Zelda and my clothes drenched in sweat.
“Link? Are you alright?” Zelda questioned.
“Yeah, I’m fine.” I gasp.
“No, you’re not. What’s wrong? Was it a nightmare?”
“I said it was nothing!” I shout. That’s when I feel it, a pulling feeling. Like something within me was trying to break free.
“Link! You’re bleeding!” Zelda shrieks. I stumbled out of the room, not hearing Zelda’s words. I leave our room and begin to descend the stairs. I make it down unscathed, when I feel something drip on my foot. I kneel to wipe off the mark, until i realize it’s blood. Reflexively, I go for my sword until I remeber that i left it back in the Sacred Grove. I look up, expecting an enemy. When I do, I kept going back. Gravity is a pain, literally. My arms fell back, barely catching myself. My stupid head flings back anyway so it feels like I now have stones stuck in my skull.
