About CALENDULA (Pot Marilgold):
The taste and smell of this tea is sweet and flowery. Pot marigold, better known as calendula, is a beautiful flower that also possesses a multitude of health benefits. Rich in phytochemicals including lycopene, which is recommended to assist with the prostate and found in tomatoes, it is also rich in nutrients including – calcium, coenzyme Q10, vitamin C and vitamin E. It helps regulate the menstrual cycle, builds immunity, and lowers fever. As a compress it reduces inflammation and is soothing to the skin. Because of it’s anti-inflammatory properties, it is excellent for a baby that has diaper rash. Calendula tea or a calendula tea bath is not recommended for pregant women. The entire plant above ground may be harvested, but usually young blooms are used.

Questions & Comments

Wow I never knew all this for calendula and I thought green tea was the rage! I was told years ago by a WalMart pharmacist that lycopene (in Centrum, etc) is for anti age and used to take multivitamins until I learned the body rids most of it. I actually have been very healthy and youthful skin, no wrinkles yet, by taking hemp oil daily supplements and putting hemp seeds in my oatmeal and many baked goods. The protein in it has huge benefits for your hair, skin, and nails. My nails used to be so brittle from a vitamin D deficiency. How do you grow this and what's required?

Yes, Hemp seed oil is awesome. Flax Seed is very similar and I have that as well. These are all very easy to grow, just like growing tomato plants or other annuals like snapdragons. I don't grow enough of this to soley make Calendula Herbal Tea. I mix this with other ingredients like chamomile and bee balm for tasty tea.
