Description

The listing, Faerie House Woodcarving has ended.

This is a faerie house carved from a Cypress Knee which is a root of a Cypress tree. I carved this myself.
Questions & Comments
Default avatar m
not sure on shipping costs but I will check it out. The actual wood is very light. The root of the cypress knee rises above the swamps in Louisiana and they are cut off, boiled then peeled. I buy them with all this done and then carve them. I usually do wizards and stuff, but this is my first faerie house in cypress. My faerie houses are usually done with cottonwood bark. Thank you for the lovely comments :)

Ever consider carving Hobbit holes? I can imagine one carved of similar wood with moss placed over the top... but this is lovely too.

The entire diorama I hope to complete would fit about an 18" by 24" space, with the carved hobbit hole dimensions being about 12" X 8" X 8".

Do I hear mention you do canes? I've F & W. Do you have a website or something where I could see your other work? I'm going to try for this, although I see I have stiff competition. You're a fabulous artist!

This is lovely. How tall is it? (And I could possibly connect you with someone who could build your website for you, depending on what you need.)

F & W means I've become a fan of you and I'm watching your auction, planning to bid on it. Personally, I'm very particular about who I choose to become a fan of. They must have very special offerings and you indeed do!

Its about 14-16 inches tall..I have not put a finish on it thus yet, but whomever wins can let me know if they'd like either a bee's wax finish or a clear gloss.

I absolutely love this piece! It's gorgeous, and you're obviously very talented! I may not be able to get this now, but I really hope you will post more of these for auction, in the future-along with your other pieces! And, after reading the above comments, its clear that I'm not the only one who's anxious to see more of your work!!!

If you'd do the hobbit hole carving... round decorative door, with a window in the side and one out the back.. I'd love to finish it out with a moss roof and diorama landscape. I've been a Tolkien fan since my childhood. And one of your carvings would make a magical addition to my home.

Just google "hobbit hole" and check out the images. If you care to do a barter, I'd gladly trade you a finished stained glass project for a hobbit hole that was say, about the size to sit on a tv tray? You can view more of my work on either www.selahstained.weebly.com or at www.etsy.com/shop/SelahStainedGlass

ok shipping...I am at zip code 05631 and I live in Vermont. I also will try and get another picture up..but on the back of this faerie house there is a window carved in with a ladder going up to it made of twigs..so use your imagination in the interim, but I will try to get another pic up today. Also, I sometimes put my stuff up on etsy, but I am trying to find someone who does webpages for a descent price, because I do sell alot of my art. I do snake canes, as well as wizard walking canes, indians (sold out), I do stunning fish about 25" in length, painted, and look real like someone just caught them. If anyones interested in carved stuff we can exchange emails etc.

This is too beautiful! I'd love to bid but a bit short on funds for shipping if it is too much. Any chance you can figure out what it would cost to send to the zip 75965?

Do you sell the things you carve? Do you have a web site with you art. The only reason I ask, I would like to see your other art. My mom loves owls. Was wondering can you carve owls. That reminds me so much of Louisiana.

That's what I thought. I'm from Louisiana. I moved to TN., six years ago. It reminds me of Louisiana. Really love it. It would look nice on my shelf with my other theme from Louisiana. I also have Mardi Gra mask.
