This set comes in its original packaging box. The 2 books are "The Tale of Peter Rabbit" and "Little Black Sambo" I know, not racially correct. However, I read the story and it's not as bad as you might think.

The set includes the box, 2 books, and 2 puzzles of pictures from the books. All the pieces of the puzzle are intact and fit together. Some of the puzzle pieces are of shapes of actual things like a house or a tree or a person - really interesting. Books measure about 13 inches tall by 9 3/4 inches across. Puzzles are a little smaller as they measure about 10 3/4 inches high by 8 inches across.

I would say they are in excellent shape. If not for the name "Bobby" written in pen on the outside of the box (see picture 1), there is not a thing wrong with them. The books themselves still have strong binding and there is no writing or tears on any of the pages. The color and condition of these books are awesome.

It was hard for me to dicipher the artist name but when I searched on the internet I was able to discover the woman illustrator's name is Fern Bisel Peat. She lived from 1893 to 1971 and her illustrations appeared in books, magazines and paper doll collections and on tin toys and puzzles throughout the ’30s and ’40s. The work of Fern Bisel Peat, however, continues to captivate.

These are real toys from the late 30's or 40's - NOT REPRODUCTION pieces. Bid accordingly. You won't be sorry. The first inside page of the book has the following:
