yes it does cost allot to ship out packages but I also do free shipping on most of my auctions. it is a crap shoot on how much you are going to get for your auctions so with the starting bids able to be what we need to recoup the shipping costs we are almost guaranteed to get the least of what we will get out of our auctions that way noone is stuck with all of the money going out of their pockets, but we also have to understand that when we start out our bids on our items we have to take into consideration that some times if we place a starting bid to high we wont even get that so its a catch 22. Listia isnt about making money period. it is meant to share our items with others who cannot afford to go out and buy them for themselves so if it is making money off your items is what you want then Listia surely isnt the place to be for that.

Can you tell me what is included in the shipping? Just seems high to pay when in the same state.

it really has no relevance to where you live as to the prices for flat rate shipping. the post office does not care if you live next door as whenever you ship flat rate services it means one flat rate for everyone in the United States. but I also include always delivery confirmation/tracking. so you are paying for priority flat rate services with delivery confirmation and packaging materials i.e. bubble wrap and tape. the flat rate packaging with delivery confirmation alone is $6.35 period call the post office and ask and that is the lowest cost flat rate they offer. it is a 2-3 day usually delivered but they do not guarantee it or if you want to be cheaper you can pay for parcel post services which take no less then 10 days no matter if you live in the same town because they use parcel post services for all lower packaging services and they do not take as good as care of the items that way and they place them on a rack and it sits for days because it is not considered priority. you may also pick it up, I do not make money on my shipping charges and most of the time I have to add money to the items to cover the rest of the postage.but this is a fair price and it is the same you would have to pay from the manufacturer well actually they charge 9.95 or 12.95 shipping no matter if you get one or 2.

there is nothing hazardous in it,you have to add the butane to it,noone would sell you something in a store and ship to you that contained butane in it already like this unless it was a lighter that is sealed. and yes you can ship lighters lol I work with the USPS every single day,and I know what can and cannot be sent, it is not up to my bidders to post long comments that take up valuable space on my auction pages for questions that could be asked with just a few words. please keep that in mind next time you choose to ask something.

the winner needs to purchase a can of butane at any gas station,pharmacy/drug store or super market and fill this themselves, they do not contain any butane.

well the shipping is free for GIN bids so you can keep that in mind. also when bidding on something you might want to keep in mind that many people on Listia offer brand new items that they have spent their real money on buying pus paying shipping to get to themselves so saying you dont do shipping payments is like your saying you will only bid on auctions where you can only get the item without having to actually do anything for it since you only want to spend your free credits for an item your telling people you think they should just only give you their items because their not worth paying the shipping to get that item to your door? kind of unfair dont you think?you expect everyone else to pay all the money just so you can get something really free? what about the items you sell? do you pay the shipping on those or do you in turn expect the winners to pay you the shipping also? kind of works both ways dont it? paying shipping fees through PayPal is the only actual way to go when dealing with people you dont know because it is recorded and they cannot scam you out of your money that way because it is handled through a third party company. they also dont receive the full amount you pay because they have to pay PayPal a percentage of the money they receive in order to receive funds through PayPal so they arent getting the full amount anyways.

It is against listia rules to offer free shipping conditionally ,it either free shipping period gin or not ,or winner play's shipping gin or not there are conditions on free shipping :) I jus don't want someone to try to flag your auction an shut it down :) good luck sweetie :)
Jan 23rd, 2013 at 9:28:46 AM PST by

hun, my free shipping is not conditional. it is not against the rules to offer free shipping for GIN wins. please read the rules correctly. I am a veteran Listia member for 2 years and have over 750 auctions under my belt so you would think better then to question someone with my stature on what the Listia rules are wouldnt you? thank you for your ignorance on this subject, you are now blocked from bidding on any of my auctions in the future. next time you might want to private message people before you get blocked again.

Sorry, have to agree that these are not $50 or even $30.. Hardware stores sell them for $10. If you look at cash price to purchase 33k on here.... Plus the $6 to ship. Just saying

well go buy a 10 one then and for you to come on my auction and say what it cost to buy 33,000 credits well then thats your problem because you dont go by what you get charged for the credits as Listia charges a convenience fee for those of you who choose to not earn your credits the right way that Listia was meant to run. you pay three times more to buy your credits then what the credits are worth. every 1,000 credits is worth $1.00 I am a veteran Listia member for 2 years running auctions of over 750 of them and think I would know a biut more about the cash to credit ratio then a NEWBIE,so keep your opinions to yourself and you are now blocked from any of my auctions as I do not need any Drama from Newbies who think they know everything when they havent even been on Listia long enough to say BOO!!

I have to say waa waa, crying over shipping charges, come on even Listia promotes freee shipping by giving credits for affering free shipping, and also not everyone that has low feedback means they have not been on Listia less time than you and don't know more than you. I am so tired of hearing people cry over shipping. If you are crazy enough to go and buy stuff just to list on here for credits you should get stuck. Just my two cents.........

well markgrumbell you can kiss your chances of ever winning any of auctions goodbye as I dont need anyone to tell me how to run my auctions period. you do not have the seniority over me to say one word so lets just say you think your better then everyone else and I was not complaining about shipping charges period, I only say if you feel that you are to good to pay to have an item shipped to you after you won it for free then that only says one thing about you!!! YOUR CHEAP and GREEDY!! most people cannot afford to spend over 200 bucks every two weeks or month to ship free items to other people who dont want to even spend 10 bucks to have a 100 dollar item sent to them, come on now, you get nothing for free ever and if you do count yourself lucky because if I only have to spend the shipping money to get something I wanted that I didnt have to pay money for you bet I am gonna pay the shipping because I didnt have to spend my gas money going to the store then spend my cash to buy it so the least I can do is spend the money to pay to have it delivered to my door, I am not a greedy person and I dont even ask for the full amount of the shipping cost I only ask for partial payment and I pay the rest and if you are not at least going to be willing to share in the cost of getting it to your door then you will never get anything from me period. I do not care if you like me or not , I have a perfect feedback rating from day one for 2 years now and do you think that is because I always offer free shipping? NO its because I take care of my winning bidders and give them exactly what I auction and always do more then what I have to do. You on the other hand are one of those people who think others owe you something when in fact you should be thanking the people who even talk to you because you apparently have no class. good luck in ever having as good a feedback rating as me or other Listia Legends because you will never have the mentality to ever hold your own.

I'm curious , how do you determine the value of credits , such as the GIN price ?
I understand the shipping costs , I've sent many through the USPS myself.
Jan 27th, 2013 at 6:34:29 AM PST by
Original
for every 1,000 credits it equals $1.00 some people will try to say the value is what you pay in cash to buy the credits but that assumption is wrong because Listia charges a convenience fee for buying credits as Listia was not created for people to just replenish their account credits by buying them, it was created to share your unwanted items with others by listing your items through auctions and earning credits that way or by doing free surveys or free trials to earn credits but they will sell you credits in cases of emergencies like an auction is ending before you can make more credits so in those cases you will pay a convenience fee like buying your gallon of milk at the gas station convenience store you will pay 5 bucks instead of driving another mile or two down to the regular grocery store and only pay 3 bucks for that gallon of milk,so in other words if you want credits immediately you will pay three times what they are actually worth rather then take the time to list auctions and earn your credits. I hope I explained this to you well enough as I have found myself having to explain this simple fact over and over again to people who come onto my auctions and say I ask way to much for my Gins because what it costs them to buy the credits they could buy a couple of my items, so I try to explain the cash to credit ratio to them some get it and some refuse to comprehend it lol. thanks for asking if you would like more examples please feel free to go to the rewards store listed at the top of any Listia page and you will see that same cash to credit ratio put to purpose there with every single item listed even gift cards. all the retail values of items are based upon the 1,000 credits for every $1.00

lol thanks. sometimes my mouth gets me in trouble as my husband says but then I wouldnt be me if my mouth didnt work right ha ha. I have had a stressful week this week as today was my oldest daughters 28th birthday and we celebrated her birthday at her memorial site where she was murdered on the side of the road. we had her 2 babies with us who are 16 months and almost 5. the 5 yr old sang happy birthday to her momma and we placed flowers and balloons for her,so when I am going through things like this with my grand children who no longer have a momma because 3 people decided they wanted to kill her then I dont have much patience for those people who complain about the stupidest things in life. they just dont realize how much worse their lives could actually be! thanks for the comment, I will be listing more of these so dont worry.

thanks hun, I have several of them I am going to be auctioning here for the Listia community. I got a great deal at an online tool auction so I picked up a few and had them shipped to me so I could have one for my kitchen, my husband has one for his garage and I gave pne to my Son in Law for his RC planes that he keeps having to solder things back together on, its great for soldering(you have to be very light handed and fast for soldering though) brazing etc... its an awesome piece of equipment and so much easier to handle then those larger propane torches with the large tanks that you cannot hold in one hand and for us women its a little harder to hold onto those things because we have smaller hands.
