Let me look it' i's a little bigger than a quarter with the s. silver covering part of the top ad above, i was reading sorry and putting it to the light and the color changes when you ,move it around are amazing! i read they are mostly 2-21% water and certain opals display different colors when viewed from different directions, or when the stone is turned, or when the light source is moved. this phenomenon, called play of color, gives a stone color flashes, or schillers of different colors which vary from stone to stone. opal also occurs multicolored and banded. so i played with it and reds, blacks, green,s, and opaques are the most popular, they changed from the bottom up getting darker green, then i turned it upside down and the dark spot took a while to change back. hope that helps, read up on them, they are cool! thanks f/w
