So while the negative feedback I got is legit, it's due to my foul-up and not because I was trying to take advantage of anyone. I now monitor my auctions daily."

I am auctioning this laptop as a PARTS ONLY deal. This means you accept it AS-IS,working or not. It does not include a charger so I am unable to test it.

The Product Key is NOT blacked out on the computer. Only on the image, for security purposes.

This auction for the laptop ONLY.

It is missing some keys but otherwise, it's in good shape cosmetically. No scratches on the screen and NO dents, dings, cracks or breaks on the body/chassis. This is a previously refurbished unit.

A charger would set you back about $5 to $10 from one of the larger online sellers. Please keep in mind that it is sold as-is. I have not tested it so I can not auction it as a working unit.

have you taken this unit to a repair guy or gal and gotten an estimate on repair, by any chance? What's up with it besides it's not charged? Does it boot-up when it is charged.... to Windows or DOS? Do you have any of the software or, perhaps the XP re-install CD (I have one that, I think, would work for this one)... I'm most curious. Thank you for listing this treasure. I wish you absolutely the best of luck with your auction.

This laptop was purchased as a refurb from Dell in early 2011. It was a shared computer between two of my grandchildren. After about 2-months, they managed to pluck off a few of the keys and drench it in adware and spyware.

To my knowledge, Windows XP is loaded on the hard drive and the drive is still partitioned with the with the system recovery as well as any standard software that came with the factory setup.

I have neither the time or inclination to try and diagnose whatever issues it has. In order to cover my own "a", I offer it as "parts-only". If it does need minimal attention, whoever wins it, get a REALLY good deal. If it turns out to be a "lunker", then no love lost and an industrious person can probably part it out. Plus, it's been sitting in storage for about 9 months.

It's kinda like a "modified mystery" auction.

from my understanding of these the biggest hard drive was a 16 gb ssd ....they dont have regular hard drives.....mine is only 8gb windows xp u cant download mutch but there still cool

According to Dell specs, this model sports a 160GB SATA drive. You may be thinking about the newer models. This one was purchased in 2011.

wierd...I have the exact same model and there is no way u could put a regular hard drive in mine.....it doesent even have a sata plug on the motherboard....

You may be right Alex, I Googled it before listing and only ever found 160GB to 250GB. After closer inspection, I don't see a hard drive tray anywhere.

For anyone else bidding - I AM NOT SURE WHAT SIZE HARD DRIVE THIS UNIT HAS. It may be a 16GB SSD drive as Alex stated in the comment below.

Yea, but I'd rather lower expectations that raise them. Either way, the new SSD drives are super fast. Pretty close to memory speed when it come to reading and writing data. Like I said, I can't find any with SSD when I Google. And I can't for the life of me recall what the specs were on this when the grandkids were using it.
