Plant Classification: Half hardy shrub

"Spanish Gold" or "Rattlebox" is a most ornamental shrub bearing clusters of attractive bright red flowers held above evergreen compound leaves. It grows well in almost any position but is especially suitable for wet or moist areas in warmer climates. In winter long seed pods with a distinctive rattle appear, hence one of its common names.

Grows easily from seeds, is hardy in zones 8-11.

I really haven't noticed a scent. It's super fast growing and by the 2nd year will be loaded with blooms. :)

what is the height and size of plant cause around here is will have to be kept in doors, amy name alma carlo, and billie joes chop shop, and all my winnings go to a wildlife rehab center where they release them , sprite skys ,so anything extra you cant send would be great, , garden ,plants, trees, its all to for them , i grow them for the animals to eat, bed, and for fund raisers, if you could help it would be great, a life for a life, ty alma any one intereasted , 1136 baldwin ave --- sharon --pa ---16146, a life for a life, ty , please feel free to check the site out, i only have to april to grow plants for the fund raisers, please help if you can , you wouldnt have plants with out wildlife, , a life for a life , a great feeling, and no plants no wild life,

Height is 4 - 8 feet. I'm located in south GA but we do see temps below freezing (20s) and it survived the winter outdoors with no problems. This could be grown in a container and brought indoors for colder climates. *I started 10 seeds and got 10 trees!
