A prior auction of hair chalk raised a lot of questions, including 1) how they would work on dark or black hair (it does, but google special instructions on chalking black hair) and 2) Why does the package say art chalk or chalk pastels (Art chalk pastels are the exact same product in composition as hair chalk. Hi, and thanks for asking. This is just the latest of these auctions and all issues addressed in your question are explained to the extreme at the link for the first auction included in the description. Pay close attention to the comments section. There are pages of explanations lol! However, short answer is they are exactly the same and interchangeable products. They are not special because they are labeled "hair chalk". They just cost more and only come in sets of four when packaged as "hair chalk". And yes, you can go to your local art store and purchase them yourself, just make sure you DO NOT accidentally get oil pastels! Thanks for looking!

I do chalk my hair-I use the artist chalk and it does work the same as hair chalk-it works good on dark hair,just have to wet the hair before chalking it-it is a little messy but the results are good-I like this set that you have here :)

Thanks! I did it myself with the first set I auctioned off, but I just don't have time to play with it. I have a karaoke show and by the time I've cooked, fed my dad, bathe, makeup and hair, I just have no time for the extras like this. Not if I want my nails done! lol
