Description

The listing, Leonotis nepetifolia 50+ seeds has ended.

Great for tea and is also used in combination with cigarettes and pipe. This variety is said to be the stronger version of Lion's Tail. I love to grow this and watch bids perch on the pods and sway in breeze...it's pretty funny. Also brings in hummingbirds. From what I have heard, the government is pushing have a ban on this plant which I do not understand, I have used this for tea and it helped me to relax and sleep but there was no intoxicating effects that I noticed. Regardless, the flowers are neon orange and they stand out! No chemicals have ever, EVER been used on these.

Just found and pasted from another site, a little more info.
Lion's Tail is very easy to grow. It's an evergreen perennial if protected from frost (zones 9-10). In colder areas, you can grow it in a pot and bring it indoors over the winter. Or just grow it as an annual each spring, saving the seed in the Fall. It prefers full sun to a half-day of sun. It's drought-tolerant once established, although it looks best with occasional watering and feeding. It can bloom throughout the year in mild-winter areas.

Yes it really gets expensive. I was very surprised a couple of years ago to add up what I had spent that year on shipping plants out on auctions! I could have slapped myself and should have saved more money but didn't know I'd be out of work now. But my motto...Live and learn :)

I want everyone to know that I do receive many e-mails with my auctions that due to their distresses that they cannot bid on any seeds but if I would be willing to send them free seeds....it would be fine if you ARE honest with me and just ask. I do share seeds. You might not receive the amounts that I post for auction but I am always willing to share and enough to get you started. This is between God and me. But I would ask if you would just show some consideration and at least pay for postage witch is usually just a stamp. It is not asking a lot and this is from an unemployed person. Believe me, the amount of postage gets quite expensive after awhile.
