When i saw the date on this "ha' penny, (1943) I couldn't help thinking about what was happening in Britain when this coin was made. It was the middle of WW 2, when Britain was fighting for it's life against Nazi Germany. At that time, the outcome of the war was very much in doubt, and if not for American aid they would certainly have had to surrender to Herr Hitler. So much history in this coin, and I'll be watching.
