I honestly do not know, It does have tiny bristles on it, so it is possible. I bought it for one of my cats because she likes to chew on things, but it is too much for her teath I guess, she prefers her old teaddy bear and a wash cloth to chew on. New sniffed it a time or two and it layed in her toy box untouched so you could say it is a gently used toy I guess Or New sence it was never actually chewed on.
