Hardback, published by Collins, very good condition. No dust cover. photo shows some fading on the spine, upper right corner tip has some frays, but otherwise good. This is a classic by author, highly collectible. I am releasing this one because I have 2 copies. pages are darkened with age, end flaps have maps.

This book is written by one of the best authors of the last century, during the war years. She wrote many books. Her writing flows easy and you find you have read half the book before you know it. This bk is about a young married couple who settle into a remote cottage, deal with country living, and the wife finally accepts that she CAN go back to painting, and gets involved in a young boys life who wants to study with her. It is a delightful tangle of relationships, absolutely no *****. A good book doesn't need *****.
