Description

The listing, The Fool's Journey (Tarot Reading) has ended.

As you can see from most of my auctions, I am a computer hobbyist. Well, that isn't my only hobby!

I have been reading the Tarot for over 20 years now, I have been told I am pretty good so I decided to give a shot here on Listia.

I consider myself a deeply spiritual person, and divination is a part of my religious path. I am offering a Celtic Cross spread. This is the one that most people think of when they think of the Tarot.

For your reading, I will be using the "Universal Waite" deck, this is the most commonly used Tarot deck to date.

You may, at your option:

1) Have the reading emailed to you. I will read your cards for you, then email you what I think the spread is saying. I will need a photo of you, and your real first name.

-or-

2) Have the reading done "live" over the internet, via Skype! In this case, I will be speaking with you live, no photo or name needed.

Please keep rude and religious comments off my auctions, thank you.

Well first off, don't make corny jokes when you are seeking advice. :\

I'd read, read, and read some more. There are allot of books on the Tarot out there, some are quite good, others well, you'd have to judge for yourself.

Learn about the "Fool's Journey", you can find a link to more information on there below:

http://www.learntarot.com/journey.htm

There's a book called "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Tarot and Fortune-Telling" I've found to be a good starting point as well.

They also say it's best to get your first deck as a gift. I mean you could go shopping for one you like, but I think the gift of one is symbolic. Most of the Tarot is symbolic, it's easy enough to learn that such-and-such card in such-and-such location means this or that... but learning what the different cards mean in relation to each other can take years to learn.

As with anything else, you get out of it what you put into it. Also, just remember one thing:

"Many years locked in study make one not a master, simply a student of many years."

True mastery of anything comes form mastery of the self.

Haha, sorry. I'm a bit of a smartass, and I just couldn't resist when you said you didn't want any religious comments.

Thanks a lot for the tips, I'll definitely look into those books and sites. Luckily, I already *have* received my first deck as a gift. c:
