I think these are intended for grilling. There are 2 chicken (poultry) and 2 beef thermometers. There's a grey plastic holder for all 4. They are Fahrenheit, and have labels for rare, med etc in addition to the temp.The needle part is about 2 inches long. Theoretically they do work. I honestly have no luck with thermometers at all. These are no exception. Maybe I don't stick them far enough into the meat or something. I just cut open a piece to see if it's done.
