White xbox 360. it plays movies, and you can get on xbox live with it, but it does not play games. you are getting the xbox only. there is nothing else to include, so please dont ask. no cords, no controllers, no games, no hard drives.....just the system

do you still have the original disc drive? and do you accept paypal?

when an xbox plays dvds but not games, it means the disc drive was replaced without transferring the pairing key from the old drive to the new one, if you don't have the old drive to get the key from, then depending on the motherboard and dashboard, you have a dificult or no chance of recovering the key through the rgh or jtag hack. if you have the old drive then its simply plugging the drive into your computer and running a program.

is the paring key a physical object? i believe all the little plugs behind the dvd drive are plugged in still. so maybe all it needs now is the program run, i dont know...yes i take paypal

no, the key is a string of numbers that must be programmed into the disc drive, the key matches a key programmed into the motherboard and if they don't match then it will let you play dvds but not game discs. each console uses a different key so in order to get the correct key it MUST be taken from the old disc drive. its sort of like the pairing key for bluetooth ear peices, they have to match in order to work. when was the drive replaced?

I have no idea. I bought it from a friend thinking i could fix it. But I had no clue about the key pairing thing. Thanks for the info though

All that stuff or the eye needs to be cleaned. I've fixed 2 by just taking them apart and cleaning the eye.
