You need to charge it up first, thats why it says charger to go. You charge it up which only takes 4-5 minutes and then you can take it with you in case your phone dies, this will keep you smart phone from dying or flashing low battery when your in use with the phone. Example: Your talking on the phone and your phone is about to go dead, you plug this into your phone and you can keep talking without worrying about losing your phone call. Just keep it charged just like any charger, it needs to be charged as well or into an electrical outlet.

Just the computer to charge it up. They do sell an adapter for the wall for it, but you don't really need it.
