-

These fruits are commonly known as "dragon fruit".

The vine-like epiphytic pitahaya-producing cacti of the genus Hylocereus are native to Mexico, Central America, and South America.

Hylocereus blooms only at night; the large white fragrant flowers of the typical cactus flower shape are among those called "moonflower" or "Queen of the Night". Sweet pitahayas have a creamy pulp and a delicate aroma. It is also grown as an Ornamental plant, used in gardens as a flowering vine and a house plant indoors.

After thorough cleaning of the seeds from the pulp of the fruit, the seeds may be stored when dried. Ideally, the fruit must be unblemished and overripe. Seeds grow well in a compost or potting soil mix - even as a potted indoor plant. Pitahaya cacti usually germinate between 11 and 14 days after shallow planting. As they are cacti, overwatering is a concern for home growers. As their growth continues, these climbing plants will find something to climb on, which can involve putting aerial roots down from the branches in addition to the basal roots.

Hylocereus has adapted to live in dry tropical climates with a moderate amount of rain. The dragon fruit sets on the cactus-like trees 30–50 days after flowering and can sometimes have 5-6 cycles of harvests per year. There are some farms in Vietnam that produce 30 tons of fruit per hectare every year.

Google search "Germinating Hylocereus Seeds" for instructions on how to properly get them to grow. They don't get treated the same way many others do. Many other sites have the simple steps spelled out, so I don't wanna type it all here... but it's possible the seeds you had were good but just weren't germinated properly. Thanks for looking/bidding =) Fanned you.

35+ Seeds! This is enough seeds to start a business =) This many cacti will produce a large amount of fruit. Enough for you to keep what you can eat & sell the rest... Which will produce enough seeds for you to harvest, keep what you need to grow more cacti & sell the rest... Then consider that you can cut pieces of this cacti off & clone it by simply planting the cutting upright with at least 2 inches of it in soil. The clones will grow more quickly and produce fruit earlier than new generations from seed... So even 1 plant in a short period of time can multiply into several... The potential is limitless. You can produce as much or as little as you desire... and YES, even MORE seeds will be added for high bidders.

I use Miracle-Gro Organic Gardening Soil and I sprinkle the seeds on top of the soil & mist it with a water bottle to keep the top layer moist til they sprout (in partial light... light filtered/shaded sunlight, somewhat indirect but still bright for a few hours a day.)... sometimes they take a while, and many pop out at different times, sometimes days apart, even though they're all sown the same day. Good luck =)

Once they sprout and grow beyond their "regular leaf" stage, they will look normal (but tiny)... this is when I move them, spread them out for future growth or move them to individual pots (because they will get BIG & FAST)... shortly after that I will put a stake in for them to grow on and trim them as needed to maintain a small-medium sized plant (This does not affect fruit size).

Hmm... Maybe those seeds were too old then... These seeds are not old & I have germinated dozens of them a few months apart over the last 12 months. Even have a few I just started... Tell you what, I am so sure these will grow that if they don't, message me and I will buy a brand new batch from the supplier I use and send you a free replacement. I guarantee the winning bidder viable seeds.

Cool . Glad u have more :)
Are these the white or pink flesh ones ?

Pink. Self-pollinating w/ minimal thorn growth compared to all other varieties. Many of the other types have longer, thicker, more prominent thorns but these are small and easy to snap off if you want to kid-proof them for safety.

I had gotten some seeds out of a dragon fruit I bought at whole foods market, put them in a shallow to-go food container that had a lid, and followed those directions to tamper into the soil, then keep moist. Worked great, I now have 3 and 4" baby dragon fruit. I also used miracle seed starter soil. However when purchasing some online from Amazon prior, none of those seeds germinated. I cant wait till they fruit, does anyone know approx how long it takes them to fruit? Great auction btw...glad to see its going well for you, best success. :)
