The listing, Heirloom Fruit ✽ SUMMER-BEARING RED RASPBERRY ✽ 10 Seeds ✽ Organic has ended.
The classic summer-bearing red raspberry is a fast grower with an aggressive sprawling habit and some of the best tasting, plump berries available. They grow berries on one-year-old canes called primocanes in the fall and produce summer fruit on the same canes the following season. By the 3rd year, many new canes have produced underground, and the 3rd year canes can be pulled out.
Contrary to populat belief, these far out-produce everbearing varieties. Use the fruit for your favorite recipes and the leaves to dry for herbal tea. Grows in zones 3 - 8.
Family: Rosaceae (ro-ZAY-see-ee)
Genus: Rubus idaeus
This Auction: You will be receiving 10 seeds from my
garden. They will be sent First Class mail. I have not tried these by seed. I would try 1/3 in pots. 1/3 in the garden, and put down 1/3 in fall if tries 1 & 2 don’t work.
Propagation Method: From seed, sow seeds indoors 6 weeks before last spring frost. Sow 3-5 seeds per pot. About 10 days before the last spring frost, begin hardening the plants to the outdoors. Transplant your plants to a sunny location.
