very beautiful!!! :) i have sooo much stress i need to rid of... my best friend... my boy friend who was my 11 year old daughters daddy died on 4/20/2012 last year and it was not a natural death. and my daughter and me both have sooo much stress and depression because of his death. and my daughter now knows the cause of his death and his cause is not the good kind... my daughter seen this and begged me to bid on it after i had bid on 2 other items and i bid the rest of credits on this.if lose on other 2 items then i could bid more.

thank you and yes Brandy likes it cause it is pink and she said it is so beautiful.she will be 12 this month on feb.26th. and i do not have alot of $ to spend for her birthday.i told her that i did bid on it before she went to school and she got all excited.told her that could not bid any higher cause of the other 2 items that had already bid on. and she knows i do not have lot of $ and that she will not get a lot for her birthday.

Beautiful! I am a collector of rocks and THIS is my favorite one. Rhodochrosite has many metaphysical properties. But it has some pretty special physical properties as well. It is manganese carbonate mineral. Its beautiful coloring, the rose-red color, is due to its manganese mineral. The inclusion of calcium, magnesium, or iron results in varying shades of the rose-red color, from pale pink to brown. It is most commonly found with pink being the dominate color. Since it is formed in a hydrothermal vein, it is typically banded with various shades of pink color through brown coloring. It is often found during silver mining where it is usually discarded. Since the manganese ore is also a component of stainless steel, it is often mined for that purpose. Today, the finer specimens, such as the one being offered here, are sourced primarily from the state of colorado (it is their official state mineral). However, it is found worldwide. The jewel-worthy variety was first discovered in Romania first in its purest dark pink/rosie red. Since it is a relatively soft rock and cleaves very easily, it is usually not faceted. Jewelry is usually in the form a cabochon or drop, like the one here.
