Description

The listing, SMC EZ CONNECT G, 802.11g WIRELESS USB 2.0 ADAPTER has ended.

This is an awesome auction for a SMC EZ CONNECTg-802.11g USB 2.0 Adapter, it for any laptop, game system or some other mobile devices. You can use it to pick up wireless Internet on any non-wireless device. I have used it for my fathers Dell Laptop and one of my uncles older X-Box 360's, it worked perfectly for both. I can not guarantee that it will work on everything you have but I think it will work on most. As always any questions I will be pleased to try and answer them, and good luck. Oh and have a good time.

I can't bid on this product unless I know that it will work on a computer using WinXP service pack 2 (some will only work with SP3). I know that's kinda specific, and you might not know. NP if that is the case, I just won't be able to bid since that's the specs I know I need. In any event, I hope this auction goes very well for you :)

Thank you for the comment, but I can't say for sure. I used it for my Fathers Laptop and I can say he was using WinXP, but can not say what the Service Pack was in it. My computer is running on Service Pack 3, so I have nothing I can test it on. I looked at several sites that has this Wireless Connector on them, but the best I could find was stating that it is useful to WinXP users and it is Backwards Compatible. Nothing was giving me a direct and specific answer for the Service Pack 2 question. I use Google Chrome, maybe someone could find something on Bing? Sorry that's all the help I could give right now, I will try to find a definitive answer and if I do I will update the info. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

very interested..
my dads older toshiba has a pci network card that you slide on to the slot on the board..and it is not working with our brand new wireless router
this would probably be much better than buying another network card f/w!

I would think so, most electronics are USB port based now.

Great auction first off. To the person running service pack 2... All you need to do is an update though microsoft to fix this. You can download the service pack 3 for free and install it on the start menu as well. Im surprised its not telling you that you need to update

I was talking about on a desktop PC. I said I would assume it would work on a desktop PC. I understand what you are saying but that was far from the tight answer. If it works on a laptop and gaming systems, it will most likely work on a desktop PC. Not just mobile computers or gaming systems. What I asked was for you to confirm my assumption. Thanks.

O.K, Do you know if it cost anything and/or how much to put something to be sold on Ebay?

It would work for both, I wish you good luck. I wish now that I would have had the credits to set the 4000 G.I.N. I was wanting to start it with. Sounds like it would get good use from you getting it, and that's always goo to me. Best of luck!

Okay, so cnet, which is a reliable source of info, said that this hardware works with Windows 98/2000/XP, so I am confident it will work with any version of XP. Thank you for your help and for provide so much information and being honest about what you do not know. F&W and I wish you much success :)

I just wanted to thank you for your response--I am glad that you are totally up-front and honest about what information you have or do not have. I was told by my internet provider that I had to make sure my wireless receiver works with XP SP2. I use this because some things I run one my computer do not jive with SP3. I can try to do some research on this product myself, but since you mentioned that it worked on an older XBOX 360, it seems a bit more hopeful that I can use this. If you have any idea when that 360 was purchased or came out, even a rough estimate, that might also help.

I have fanned you because I can see you are honest about what info you can and cannot provide, and that you are trying to be helpful to potential bidders. :)

HEY!Anyone like comedy. I also have a great comedy movie. It's on DVD and it's like new, I only watched it once. Pretty much only bought it for the Bobble head. It's called Mr.Beans Holiday, it is a very funny movie and worth every credit you may want to spend. Go check it out, and check it out on youtube, they have several videos cuts from the movie. Thanks for checking out my auctions and look for more auctions coming later this week. Good luck and have fun.

Sorry for any confusion. When I had it running on my fathers laptop he has a Service Pack 3 with XP so I would think even if it was running on a Desk Top instead it would work the same. As far as being able to absolutely confirm that, I do not have a way. I hope this has answered your question as well as I possibly can without a definite answer. Sorry I can't say for sure.

I am sure you can use it with a desktop pc that runs Windows XP Service pack 3 if you used it on a laptop runing the same. Can you confirm this at all ?

No, sorry everything at my house is Wireless. I don't have my fathers laptop or an X-B-ox 360 at all. It worked on my fathers laptop and my uncles X-Box 360 gaming unit.I would all but guarantee that would work for almost anything and the sites I visited on-line didn't mention anything about a Service Pack limitation. Sorry again, I have tried to get more information on this. I will post what info and details I can find, and hope that helps everyone out. Sorry, again and hope this helps and you are interested. Thanks for the comment.
