Description

The listing, Challenge me. One Drawing from your Photo Emailed has ended.

I finally stumbled onto the art category. So I decided to give one away.

I will hand draw one subject from your photo that you email to me. Then I will scan in the drawing and email it to you. I can not afford to ship it out sorry.

I didn't want to charge shipping on it because what if you didn't like the results (it is possible) then you wouldn't want to pay for shipping either.

This will be a sketch with pencil and not in color.

I will not draw any naked people!! Do not send me any pictures of that sort!!!

I can draw people, babies, pets, possibly other things...

Can you draw a anthropomorphic or feral wolf?

A wolf with some human characteristics? Most wolves are feral aren't they? I can try. I have never done it before but that doesn't mean that I can't do it. I can probably draw a wolf. I've drawn a puppy before and cats and birds, etc.

I like the idea here. A few ideas that might help when you post this again (which I think you should.) I would love to see some examples of work you have done to give me an idea of your style. Once you have that I'd be more than happy to pay for it to arrive. I'd suggest the extra photos and winner pays shipping. You can always put in the auction that if they prefer not to pay shipping that you will gladly email them a copy of it. That way you have option. I know personally I'd rather pay a little to have the original. Hope to see you back. Take care

I appreciate the advice that you have provided for me. I will take that in consideration for next time. This time I wanted to see if someone would put faith in me that I could draw something nice. I didn't want someone to have preconceived ideas of how it will turn out with samples and then it turns out totally different. Hopefully they won't be disappointed.

Also I'm not sure of the best way to ship the drawing. Do you have advice on that?

I understand where you're coming from with not wanting to post images, but I believe without allowing people to see a taste of your style we are left to assume the worst. It is my opinion that your auction bid will be higher if you are willing to take that step. I'm hearing a lot of insecurity about your work. I'd encourage you to browse the art are on listia to see what other people are posting and how much they are receiving. Search for "ATC" and see what you find :) ATC's are 3.5 x 2.5 inch playing card size, collectable drawings. They only cost a stamp to mail in the usa. Plus there are a number of collectors here on listia already who would likely take the mystery challenge you place today even without pictures.

I think people are more likely to be disappointed if you don't show them what to expect than if you withhold the information. Art is about your style not necessarily perfection. I love imperfect things. Embrace your style! :)

I'm sorry that people think the worst but I would rather that and them be pleasantly surprised than to expect something and not get it. I'm just in trial mode anyway.
I have seen those ATC cards at an art store. I haven't got any but I thought about trying it. You seem to be doing well with yours.

I really appreciate your comments.

Hi, I have been reading your discription and the comments, and Im going to believe in you and BiD!!! I normaly would not do this without the photos, I think they are a very important part of the auctions, but I am an Artist too, and I sence that insecure feeling about you that I know all to well, so I have a pic of my daughters dog I would like for you to draw !!

Thank you very much!!! I am excited now. I will take what you say in consideration. Perhaps if you win can I use what I draw for you as an example for next time?

yes, each time you do a drawing put up those as examples, so everyone can see your style, as stated by Rhonda, each atist has a differant style, [ a one of a kind] after a few listings youll start to get more and more credits for them!

Your welcome. I only mean them constructively it's all up to you of course :) I think people may be inclined to think less without the proof because of this venue. If it was for an atc sized drawing I'd love to try the mystery :)

oh I had a quick thought. A friend of mine told me once something like this for when the buyer isn't choosing per say. Call it a mystery... because everyone loves a mystery :). Part of taking on a mystery is in the not knowing what it will be and the bidder takes the risk that the piece may not be their cup of tea.
