I'm sending this one first class, I'm unaware of a cheaper way that I can send it or that has tracking. I'm also a bit new to this so I'm willing to look at other options if anyone can suggest anything.
You should be able to add tracking to any package from my understanding. And parcel post is the next cheapest but also the longest, essentially 'snail mail'.
You might want to try small (tiny) manilla envelope, and place small piece of posterboard in it and then on pkg outside put do not bend picture included an should be able to get it mailed for under $2.00 an if feel guilty put small pic along withit then it'll be ok but if fit with white envelope might of been less than $1.50.but see weight with tiny manilla one!!!!
I was under the assumption that having the original case was desirable. I would try to send it alone with stamps if someone wanted me to, but I've had a lot of "postage due" from people who send stuff to me that way because the PO's make so many errors weighing. It'd have to be okay with the buyer that they may end up paying postage.
I usually do take stuff down to the PO. I'm not not going to risk it unless the buyer is also willing to take the risk, because the postal workers seem to frequently mess up and underestimate the required postage, or it will go through a second PO and they will weigh it wrong and say the postage is insufficient. It's happened to me A LOT, in both shipping and receiving. The 3.99 I'm charging is the safest option for me to avoid my buyer having to pay an extra $0.50-1.00 for postage due, and potentially giving me bad feedback.
Post offices are not as reliable as I would like them to be when it comes to small packages and I'm not sure why it's so difficult for them to get the price right. But by all means, if you are willing to risk it, I will use a cheaper shipping option. I'm not trying to stop anyone, I am just giving fair warning and trying to be realistic.
