Description
The listing, white gold EP black onyx pendant has ended.
up for auction is an electroplated white gold pendant with a black onyx stone (the stone looks genuine but not sure how to tell real and fake apart.) it's pretty heavy for it's size (just bigger than a quarter but smaller than a half dollar). ships free. verified listians only.
None that I can find. I am almost certain it is plated though when scratched I don't see a different base metal color (copper, brass etc). Also it is not magnetic. I have not had this tested but I would not bet on it being real gold or silver.
joboy most plated stuff is not marked. "white gold ep" is the best physical description I can give for what it looks like. The scratch is on the backside of the loop made with a razor blade knife (which is hard to capture with a 3.2 mp camera phone) so no it was not made with a fingernail lol.
Sorry, I should have said I sell jewelry and if something is plated even EP (very lightly plated) with a fine metal like sterling or whiite gold it would def. be marked. (.925 EP, or WG EP) I just wondered why your title says it is white gold EP- How did you know white gold over silver plating?
silver has a different lustre to it than white gold. I have a pretty good eye for noticing the difference between the two but I have to say I am pretty sure it is heavily plated... and I can tell you for a fact that not all electroplated pieces are marked. I do a lot of PM recovery and refining and most of my stuff is unmarked but still tests positive for pm's using a stanous chloride method.
