Description

The listing, SOUTH VIETNAM COINS has ended.

Here you will find 2 uncirculated coins from South Vietnam. The 1 Dong coin issued in 1972, is made of aluminum and pictures a design of wheat flanked by olives. The golden 10 Dong coin is of brass-clad steel. Issued in 1974, this shows an interesting view of Vietnamese people transplanting rice. The inscriptions read (Food for All) and(Increase Agriculture Production). These coins were issued under the United Nations F. A. O. (Food Coin Program)and serve as a constant reminder to grow more food. The program is aimed at helping countries like Vietnam where hunger constantly overshadows many of the people.
