Description

The listing, 1969 Topps baseball card lot w/ '69 Met Art Shamsky has ended.

Here's a lot of eight (8) vintage 1969 Topps baseball cards (NOT reprints). Please note this is a lower-grade condition lot, with all cards having creases and/or other issues. But then again, these cards are 44 years old. Neat bit of history, but if you're picky about condition, this is not the auction for you.

ART SHAMSKY (OF-1B, Mets) was a key contributor to the "Miracle Mets" team of '69 that also featured Tom Seaver and Nolan Ryan, hitting .538 in the NLCS with 7 hits.

GERRY ARRIGO (P, Reds) pitched in the majors for a decade, his career highlights being 2 one-hitters.

JIM McGLOTHLIN (P, Angels) was an All-Star in 1967, leading the AL in shutouts that year with 6.

TOM MATCHICK (2B-SS, Tigers) won a World Series in 1968 for Detroit along with the likes of Al Kaline and Eddie Mathews.

JIM ROLAND (P, Twins) pitched for a decade. His best year was likely '69 when he had an ERA of 2.19 in 86.1 innings.

GATES BROWN (OF, Tigers) spent his 13-year career all with Detroit and was another member of their '68 championship team, plus was hitting coach when they won it all again in 1984.

JACK HIATT (C-1B, Giants) was a back-up in the majors for 9 years.

WOODY FRYMAN (P, Phillies) pitched for 18 years and was an All-Star in '68 and '76.
