and the only way to really tell, is to look at them through a jewelers loop, there are so many beautiful laboratory grown ones, heat treated to enhance color, but there are just as many beautiful glass, crystal and rhinestone ones as well, I occaisionally make an error, and I have been doing jewerly for 32 years starting in High school, and I designed my own rings, because I like big stones and I could never find any to fit a man's fingers, so I would go to the jewelry auction everyday, for 2 years and outbid anyone who dared challenge me....I taught myself how to solder and I would solder a silver hoop from a woman's earring (for the ring part) to the back of another with a jewel in it and no hoop, I became quite well known for really contemporary designs some even abstract and I sold at local flea markets and boutiques, and advanced from there...
i wish you could see them in person, they are VERY bright and Beautiful....i WISHED i could do something with them, kinda hope someone who DOES do jewelery makes something beautiful out of it lol...............and lists on LISTIA.........HINT HINT ahaha
The mouth is extremely temperature sensitive and can detect warm and cold better than a hand or fingers, it the stones were cold, real cold like they were in the refridgerator they are most likely genuine, however they could be lab grown, then they would be perfect without inclusions or flaws and they would be bright and shiney like colored diamonds. Anyway thank you for lowering your opening bid to a more reasonable offer I appreciate it....btw if you ever have any questions regarding gems, or metal for jewelry let me know I have auctions running on this site all the time as well and my username is arcangelstmichael
thank you for your help. I just have no use for these, real or not real .....i actually put these up for the idea that someone might want them for crafts and such, never thought about actual jewlery making or anything lol..... but again i do appreciate your help with this, guess my answer was kinda bland, i could see the dot, but it was spread out it wasn't a dot dot, kinda was a million dots in a circle i can't explain. hopefully you will win it, and i wish to know if they ARE real or not as im not the best judge.
If you can clearly see the dot undistorted they are glass, and if the dot is foggy, distorted, or broken then they are genuine, If the stone is room temperature they are glass, and if the stones are cold they are from the earth and they are genuine.....
truthfully i just didn't know what to start them at, i can lower the starting bid if it makes yall feel comfortable, im not trying to pass these off as real stones, i havn't a clue what they are, i just thought 100 was too high to start but i guess i didn't go back down far enough. im used to dealing with kids clothes lol not fake/real semi precious not precious at all kind of stones, as i said before i just don't know what to do with them, so i posted them on here.
Test to see if they are real or glass, test #1 - pop 1 or 2 of them in you mouth and see if they are room temp or cold, test #2 - place a pin-sized dot on a piece of paper and place one of the clear stone flat side down on top of the dot, is the dot visible through the stone or is it opaque, (not visible) ? and i must say you must be pretty confident on the validity of the stones starting the opening bid at 80....
it's possible, im not trying to make them out to be fresh cut jewels lol, i just thought i would post them, this lady did have money, and she was crafty also so either way they are pretty and shiny and little and i don't know what to do with them.
