In the 20 years my husband was active duty we enjoyed the 4 years we were in Germany the most, we were there when the wall came down and my mom and I actually went into Czechoslovakia had out passports stamped going in it was 1 Country 9 hours later we stopped to get them stamped again and that was the day the Country went from one to two which we made regular trips over there it was just nice to happen to go through the Boarder Crossings on that day just like having huge pieces of the Berlin Wall this was the day it came down we were there before they started breaking it into small chunks and putting little stamps on it and selling them off in little bags to tourist and I have the Hummel that was made strictly for the US military and it was limited to one per SS# its of the wall and the airlift and I was able to stay in line for 2 days to have it signed as a gift to my Children, I can't say enough about Germany from the Beautiful Clocks we have to taking our children to see the Castles was awesome....
