I did some research and now see that only some ps3 systems are able to play ps2 games, check your system specs. as i understand it the models with 4 usb slots can play ps2 games and the models with 2 usb slots can not. So yes it works fine on mine but i guess that there are some models of the ps3 do not play ps2 games.
